Hi Faisal,
First and foremost thank you for giving us a daily dose of thought provoking visual treat. I’m sure your efforts will help build some conscientious Pakistanis out of our stubborn and un-scrupled selves.
Coming to today’s sequel to the sorry affairs in the Karachi traffic scene, i would like to make two suggestions based on my experience in staying in Islamabad for almost 3 yrs. I was told that the key to the exemplary conduct and performance of ITP (Isl Traffic Police) was the corporate syle management i.e. revenue targets for each area/sector/location team and incentivised remuneration packages in-addition to their basic salaries. This shall attract educated individuals to this neglected institution and will help derive a great degree of honesty in strict enforcement of rules & regulations and penalising traffic violations. The VIP culture on the other hand may just not evaporate overnight but this will certainly go a long-way in building some civic sense in us.
Regards,
Adeel Esbhani
