The Sweeper boy?

He is a boy hardly 8 years old. We  see him everyday but we never bother  passing him a smile or offering him a candy. We are self centered & only look at those who are privileged ones. Just to make our houses & environment clean he carries our garbage everyday from our homes  to the garbage cans  & cleans our vicinity. I never saw him talking to anyone or playing with other children of his age. He comes  early in the morning & leaves in the evening. He comes regularly  no matter what the weather is , he is there!  I find people treating him very badly. In order to make him feel special about himself I  speak to him whenever I have the time, his language is hard to understand but he has a heart of a child who wants to play & go to school like other kids but he cannot due to the financial pressure on him . People keeps him away from their children as they think he is dirty, isn’t all the dirt on his clothes from our own “GARBAGE”, he takes all our dirt & in return he gets hatred from others. People call him “the sweeper boy”

whenever i give him  candies  or toys , I see a twinkle in his eye,  the way he reacts on that makes me think about him the whole day, his face glows & the happiness in his eyes speaks for itself. He becomes so happy as if he had found a treasure.

There are  millions of children around us whose families wants as many family members  working as possible to ensure income security and survival. This makes it very difficult for poor families to invest in their children’s education. In fact, educating a child can be a significant financial burden.

When will our country have “free education” for all??? This is a question which arises in many hearts & when will we stop treating them like a “nobody”!

At least we can make their lives least miserable by treating them nicely. Just a nice few words & a smile won’t harm us & it will make him happy & confident.

This is a fact But not for all.
I remember a boy working, to him sometimes when me or my father saw coming to get our garbage. We asked his elder about If he’s getting education?
    And offered some money!

But this act of us made him to be seen on our streets even more frequently.
So that he can earn more money!

    This has become a habbit.
So we stopped giving him money and complained about his elders to the contractor.

Offering money to road siders is a way we are increasing this thing.
We should make them affiliated with some NGO instead of offering money.
